Resources for Teams, Coaches & Judges

High school mock trial teams start with a teacher to organize at least six students, arrange time and space for them to work and find attorneys and others to coach the students on the legal practice and the drama of mock trial.

Teams consist of at least six students to cover the three attorney roles and three witness roles required to present either the defense or the prosecution/plaintiff sides. More students may be included as time keepers or alternates, and WHSMT permits 8th graders to join teams for state competition.

What Does Mock Trial Look Like?

It helps to see videos of mock trial to better understand the program and how students have prepared for previous WHSMT rounds. You can find many high schools trial videos online, and we are in the process of uploading WHSMT trial videos from past years on our YouTube channel. Resources for Judges
